Educara is a one of a kind childcare centre that nurtures and inspires innovators of tomorrow.
More than basic child care, we are planting the seeds for a lifetime of learning. Give your child a lifetime advantage from the very beginning of their education. There are 8 traits that are evident in all children exposed to an authentic Montessori experience.
Google founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page credit their early Montessori education for a lot of their success. Other notable Montessori alumni include Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos, First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, pop icon Beyonce Knowles, and Princes William and Harry. Though much has been said about the academic achievements of Montessori children, the main value of the educational method lies in the self-discipline, self-motivation, independence, and love of learning that the children achieve.
“The essential thing is to arouse such an interest that it engages the child’s whole personality.” - Dr. Maria Montessori PhD.
Educara (Barrhaven Campus), is a Montessori based childcare centre operating in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Our daycare location, within the same premises as the Barrhaven V!VA Retirement community, provides us with a unique opportunity for intergenerational participation. Our childcare centre comprises of two well equipped classrooms catering to toddlers (18 to 30 mth., old) and preschoolers (30 mths to 5 years old) Our pedagogy modifies the Montessori philosophy by incorporating more play based exploration and experiences and follows the principles of belonging, well being, engagement and expression. Within the Educara childcare programs we covet respect for all persons, cultures and view children as being competent, capable, curious and rich in potential. Our classrooms provide a prepared environment in which children become fully engaged in active exploration, play, and inquiry. We promote activities that evolve from the child’s natural curiosity – active play that allows children to explore with their bodies, minds, and senses, stimulating them to ask questions, test theories, solve problems, engage in creative thinking, and make meaning of the world around them.
